This invention relates to a method for preparing a medicinal residue/silk protein composite flowerpot. First, the traditional Chinese medicine residue is pulverized to obtain medicinal residue particles. These particles are mixed with a solution of ethanol and toluene in a 1:2 volume ratio, at a mass ratio of 1:20, to obtain a liquid mixture. This mixture is then filtered to obtain a filter residue. The filter residue is dewatered in a centrifugal dehydrator, dried in a drying oven, and then subjected to steam explosion to obtain medicinal residue fibers. The medicinal residue fibers, silk protein, coupling agent, hardening agent, antioxidant, hygroscopic agent, and toughening agent are then mixed and extruded in a twin-screw extruder to produce the medicinal residue/silk protein composite material. Finally, the resulting composite material is injected in a molten state from an extrusion blow molding machine into the mold cavity of a flowerpot mold. After cooling, it takes the shape of the mold cavity to form the flowerpot. The resulting flowerpot has high strength, good toughness, and excellent aging resistance.
